New Blog Layout

Last night I made the move to a 3 column layout. The change is suggested by Jim at Blueprint for Financial Prosperity as a part of his article 25 Steps to a Wildly Successful Personal Finance Blog. I like the look at lot better than the old layout. There are still some bugs I need to work out and features that haven't made the transition yet. Please leave comments if you have any suggestions for the new layout.

Today's post will be short because I've got a busy day. Tomorrow I plan to write a full article about investing in individual stocks versus index funds. This will be the start of a whole series to get into both beginner and advanced topics in equity (stock) investing. Add me to your RSS feed or bookmark the site and remember to check back.

Where to Start?

I've never had a blog before so I spent part of yesterday creating a to-do list. That is one of the best ways I have found to organize my thoughts to get things done. I keep my list as a simple text file on the desktop of my computer (I loose pieces of paper). The list has turned into a long list full of features I plan to bring to Aspire2Wealth. Hopefully other people will take advantages of the site and enjoy reading what I put out there. Ultimately it would be great if I can create a community to share knowledge and support one another while we all create wealth.

Oh by the way, take a look at the NetworthIQ graphic at the right side of the page. I plan to post monthly updates of my progress. I have a positive net worth which I'm very happy about, but money always seems to be tight because so much is tied up in my house, car, debt, etc. My cash flow (monthly income vs. expenses for those new to financial matters) is tight, and I don't have much cash that is accessible. Once there are some regular readers I hope you all will hold me to task about making sure that wealth figure grows.

I've jabbered on too long already. Time to get to that to-do list.

Building the Blog

Last night and this evening I've spent hours working on Aspire2Wealth. It might not seem like there is much yet but I've learned a lot of new things. I'm pretty good with computers but this is my first blog or public website for that matter. New additions are a custom web address (http://blog.aspire2wealth.net), AdSense advertising, and a NetworthIQ badge. Anyone that happens by my little piece of the web please leave me some feedback. Till next time...

Let's Go!

I am Adfecto. Ha. My new nickname seems a bit goofy and maybe even pretentious when I say it. What it means is "aspire to." I want to go out into the world and get myself a big piece of the proverbial pie.

Welcome to my new blog. Aspiration (and one day achievement) is what this new blog is all about. I want to create wealth for myself and those around me. I am going to chronicle my thoughts (and the thoughts of others who share my aspirations) on saving, investing, taxes, jobs, and other wealth related topics. I also plan to detail the real world successes and failures I encounter.

Today I am launching Aspire2Wealth and a new chapter in my life. I am ready. Let's go!
